The Fort Worth City Council ap-
proved a 50-year ground lease for the Amer- ican QH Foundation on October 29, and AQHA reported that the following day. That city council’s action does not mean that AQHA has made a definitive commitment to relocate and is only a step in the process of the possibility of a move.
AQHA Ranching Heritage Young
Horse Development Program scholarship recipients were announced October 31. Caitlyn Dionne, Longville, LA, received $1,000 and a $100 Wrangler gift certificate, for her work with DDS Lat Catalyst by Right, bred by M Heart Corp, Vinton, LA. Callie Jo Ferrell, Burton, TX, received $500 and a $100 Wrangler gift certificate for her work with LC MR Year 50, bred by Perry Corder of LC Ranch, Crockett, TX.
NCHA announced on November 3
the hiring of Jay Winborn as NCHA Ex- ecutive Director. Winborn comes to the po- sition after serving as the NRCHA Executive Secretary for the last 7 years. He also has ex- tensive background not only in the equine in- dustry but in growing and developing brands across all businesses. He began his new job on December 1.
