Texas Trailblazer Award In Honor of Dan Markson


This year, Texas lost a true housing Trailblazer, Dan Markson. In his honor, TALHFA has created a special award to recognize Dan’s commit- ment and dedication to Affordable Housing for over 20 years. Those of us who had the pleasure to work with Dan experienced his passion and enthusiasm as he worked to build “homes” not just communities.


The Texas Trailblazer Award will not be an annual award. It will only be given to mark a significant contribution to Affordable Housing. During the conference and afterwards, when we return to our offices, we will encounter amazing individuals who share Dan’s vision. We hope that you will join us and others as we continue to make affordable housing a priority for the future of Texas.


27th Annual TALHFA Educational Conference - “The Power of Partnerships”


What a wonderful conference – we have so many outstanding members and friends to thank!


We appreciate the participation from so many of our members, speakers and sponsors. It was exciting to see participation from numerous new attendees and non-members! TALHFA was fortunate to have an impressive array of speakers and educational ses- sions. A conference such as this is truly a group effort and we had an Extraordinary Group!


Recent attendee survey responses indicate that sessions, social events, and speakers were well received. Although the weather and venue were a challenge for some guests – the hotel staff and delicious food helped to make this a successful event. Hopefully, everyone involved left Houston energized with contact information, new ideas, and possible partnerships to improve the future of their businesses and communities.


We would never be able to provide such a wonderful conference each year without the financial support from our “Keys to Suc- cess” - many dedicated Supporters and Exhibitors. We are all so grateful for their continued financial support of our programs and their willingness to provide their expertise for the educational sessions, as well. Lastly, we would like to thank the 2019 Conference Committee volunteers – thank you for helping us make a difference!!
