Visit the Kids’ Lab at Liberty Science Center


he Jennifer A. Chalsty Center for Science Learning and Teaching and BASF Corpora-


tion have partnered to run the kids’ lab pro- gram since 2010. Since then, more than 9,800 youngsters have experienced the wonders of chemistry there. Te Kids’ Lab is for children 6 to 12 years


old. Lab sessions are held at 12:15 and 2:15 p.m. Te remaining 2019 sessions are Clever Foodies on November 9; Energy Loves Produce on December 14; Playful Polymers on December 24; Candy Loves Chemistry on De- cember 26; and Rainbow Connection on December 27.


Participation is free with paid LSC admission or membership; reservations must be made on the day of the visit. Arrive at the box office at least 30 minutes before the session to obtain an admission ticket. Location: 222 Jersey City Blvd., Jersey City. To RSVP, call 201- 253-1310.

It Takes A Region to be Sustainable


he Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group(NESAWG) annual It


Takes a Region Conference, held November 7 through 9 at New Jersey City University, brings together farm and food practitioners across the 12-state Northeast region to learn, debate, collaborate and innovate ideas and solutions to critical food systems issues. Tis is the conference for anyone doing food system change work in any Northeast


state. Hundreds of practitioners convene not only for workshops, plenaries and net- working, but to roll up their sleeves and do the real work needed to create a just and fair regional food system in several work group sessions.
