Beautiful, funny, smart and with a voice that's like liquid velvet, it’s quite easy to be envious of Nikita Bassi! Her first single, Satin, was released last month and made its way quickly onto a multitude of radio playlists. The song pulls together sounds from her Punjabi-Indian roots, pairing them with lush electronics and bass to blend pop and R&B seamlessly. I chatted to Nikita just as her single was launching and it seemed like minute-by-minute interest in both her and the single was growing, playlists being announced, interview requests coming in...I think it’s safe to say this is the start of big things for this Midlands born singer.
