The famous Raymond Stampede is one of the central events of Raymond’s popular Canada Day celebrationswhich feature lots of fun activities for all ages.

May 16-19: Haven Agencies Invitational Baseball Tournament featuring the Vauxhall Academy of Baseball Jets at Jets Stadium in Vauxhall. Call Les Mc- Tavish at 403-654-4606 or 403-382-8869 for more information.
May 25: The First Annual Backyard BBQ Competition goes from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at Confederation Park in Taber. At 5 p.m., a pulled pork dinner will be served for $5 each, with all the proceeds donated to the Taber STARS Charity Auction. The licensed event will be serving alcohol from 4-10 p.m. which will also feature kid’s activities and live music.
May 31-June 1: Taber and District Show and Sale goes at the Taber Agri- Plex. Come out and support your local 4-H members. Everyone is welcome. Steer show goes on Friday, May 31, starting at 11 a.m. The beef breeding show goes at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1 features the sheep show starting at 10 a.m. with awards at 1 p.m. and the sale at 2 p.m.
June 20-September 12: Vegetables, fruit, baking, preserves, crafts, beef jerky, smoked salmon, eggs, honey and so much more featured at the Taber Farmer’s Market which goes every Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Taber Agri- Plex.
July 1: Vauxhall Canada Day celebrations start off with a morning pancake breakfast and continues on with a parade, demolition derby and fireworks. Call Vauxhall town office at 403-654-2174 for more information.
August 22-24: Every year in August the Taber and District Chamber of Com- merce hosts the largest free family festival in western Canada. It celebrates with music, entertainment, rides, chili cookoff, show and shine, skateboard corn-test, huge fireworks, and much more. You can find us in Confederation Park at 50 Ave/50 Street. Corn is King at Cornfest, and the famous Taber veg- etable is celebrated in displays, events and of course in food. You have to be here to see what all the fuss is about. Magrath Days offers plenty of fun for residents and visitors of all ages. The annual event takes place the fourth weekend in July, and is set for July 27 this year.
