press Hills, a landscape of high hills covered in pine, spruce and aspen, with abundant wildlife not typically found on the prairies. Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, located 40 kilometres south of the town of Maple Creek, boasts a full slate of tourist attractions, including horse- back riding, golf, swimming, paddling, high-quality hik- ing and biking trails, full-service camping and an award-winning zipline canopy tour. For urban adventurers, Swift Current is the place to
be. This small gem of a city os home to some excellent tourist attractions, including the Doc’s Town Heritage Village at Kinetic Park and the Saskatchewan Hockey Hall of Fame. Swift Current is also known for its world-class festi-
vals and popular public events, including the Windscape Kite Festival every June and the Long Day’s Night Music Festival later in June. From the vast solitude of Grasslands National Park
near Val Marie, to educational exhibits at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum’s T-Rex Discover Centre in Eastend, to the frontier charm of the Grand Coteau Her- itage and Cultural Centre in Shaunavon, there’s a lot to see and do in southwest Saskatchewan.
