Liam Powell, Mesilla Park,
NM, showed You Misbehavin in the Stake Race at the AQHYA World Championship Show. On August 10, they were recognized as the youngest rider and the oldest horse, were final- ists, and finished third in the 13 & Under division!
Losses Tommy Moore, 83, Aledo,
died July 17. He showed Royal Santana in NCHA competition in 1979 and 1980 to win the Non-Pro World Championship both years, and in 1980 he and Royal Santana won the Non-Pro World Finals. He served as NCHA President 1983-1984, and was a member of the NCHA Members Hall of Fame as well as the Non-Pro Hall of Fame.
Ben Emison, 81, Weather-
ford, died August 15. His con- tributions to the world of cutting horses were invaluable; he had touched every aspect. He was first a cutting horse trainer, then became involved in cutting events and horse sales, and then he branched into insure equine insurance. He was an NCHA Director and Executive Com- mittee member, and last year he was inducted into the NCHA Members Hall of Fame. w
