Fort Worth Dressage Club News

The Fort Worth Dressage Club (FWDC) is a club devoted to dressage

and dressage activities for its members. We work throughout the year to provide educational opportunities and fun activities for our members. FWDC holds monthly meetings at Szechuan Chinese Restaurant off

Bryant Irving the 4th Monday of every month at 6:30 PM. Everyone is wel- come. Our education day was held July 20th at member Pam Kemps home.

We had a representative from Zanetti Trailer Repair, Kirk Chilson from Nu- trena Feed, Shea Stewart an Advanced Craniosacral Practitioner, and mem- ber Peggy Seleske had a display on how to build an equine first aid kit and also how to take equine vital signs. Something new this year! On August 10th we had an evening of wine

and cheese and viewed the new “On The Level” Videos. These are videos of the new dressage tests with commentary from a well known judge. Our annual Pool party was August 24th with lots of fun cooling off in

member Renee Smiths pool, pot luck, games and awards for best side dish and dessert. FWDC held our low cost clinic for members. “L” graduate and “r”

judge Julie Madriguera was our clinician donating a day of lessons to FWDC members. We were at Four Friends Farm in Valley View, a beautiful facility also donating the day to FWDC. Much thanks To Tricia and David Scott for the use of their facility and Julie Madriguera for her time.

Libby Afflerbach & Doc FWDC Education Day Our Schooling show was held at Willow Draw in Weatherford on June

9th with “L” graduate Kerrie Matesich as our judge. We offered traditional dressage, gaited dressage and Western dressage. Our show was very suc- cessful with 56 rides! Thank you to Kerrie Matesich for speaking with each rider after their test. Check out our website at www.fortworthdressageclub.com. to see our

members at different activities and our latest happenings. Sign up to receive our group e-mails to members keeping them informed of club activities and other dressage events in the community. Let me know if you would like a dressage event added to our calendar. Join FWDC and learn more about the wonderful sport of dressage. We

welcome all levels of riders on all breeds of horses! w Bits & Spurs Cont from page 30
