26-28, paid out $183,836! Open Champions Casey Halder- man and Logan More turned 4 in 27.26!
The American QH Foundationhosted 1,800 people at
the National Day of the Cowboy celebration July 27 at the American QH Hall of Fame in Amarillo. Local groups joined forces with the Foundation for its 9th annual free event of- fering entertainment and educational activities to the com- munity. The Foundation gave many youth the opportunity to ride a Quarter Horse for the first time, facilitating 200 rides. Tours were available, as well as fun and creative activities.

National Youth Cutting Horse Association’s year-
end banquet, held July 27 in Fort Worth, distributed many awards. Colton Cogdell was awarded the 2019 Whitney and Greg Welch Sportsmanship Award July 27 during NYCHA banquet in Fort Worth. Rookies of the Year were Brinley Lippincott (Jr) and Clay Dukes (Sr), and year-end World Champions were Cody Gann (Jr) and Christina Huntley (Sr).
Arkansas Barrel Racing Association hosted a show
July 28 in Benton. Youth class winners were Caleigh Haw- ley (1D/Bambi/15.79) and Grace Lancaster (2D/Pep- per/20.058). Open wins Kelsey Ward (1D/John Reed/15.436), Jessica Rowland (2D/Buddy/16.111), Kellie Emerson (3D/Tank/16.475), and Julia Lauritzson (4D/KT Sunrize/17.706).
NM Appaloosa Horse Club sponsored the Red Hot
Horse Challenge August 2-4. The day included heat, a flash flood, good cows, and lots of great teamwork! The all-breed (AB), Appaloosa (App), and Quarter Horse show paid over $5,000 in cash awards! The Red Hot Ranch Horse Challenge included cow classes, reining, trail, and ranch riding. Champs included Janet Cochran (Overall/Freckelectric), Katherine Arnold (NP/Deal A Little Lena), Cody Crow (Open/Skid- ding On Ice & App/Oh Good Grace), and Colette Ledlow (AB/Rey Royal). The Ranch Pleasure Challenge included trail, ranch riding, rail, and conformation. Champs Janet Cochran (Overall/Freckelectric), Cody Crow (AB/Rey Royal & Open/ Skidding On Ice), Hallie Blair (Youth/Draggin Tale), Christy Harding (NP/JS Magnums Blue Shado) and Ardith Montano (App/You CD Signs). Cochran also won the saddle drawing!
