Just for a change, the biggest increase in share price among the region’s quoted companies did not come from the smallest companies in the market during July, as medium-sized group Accesso Technology took the honours with a 49% leap.

The group, with its UK base at Twyford, was helped by signing a strategic three-year partnership agreement with the New York Botanical Garden to implement a multiphase integration of ticketing, e-commerce and global distribution systems.

However, a company from the sub-£50 million section was not far behind, with Northamber – the longest established trade-only distributor of IT equipment in the UK, based near Weybridge – seeing its shares jump 43%.

Northamber has over 100 strategic alliances with the industry’s leading manufacturers and its comprehensive range now encompasses servers, storage, security, laptop and desktop PCs, printers, software, networking and components. This enables it to provide complete solutions for the entire information technology and communications markets.

The top performing small company with a 26% rise was Angle, the Guildford-based liquid biopsy company. Angle’s ultimate objective is the widespread adoption of its Parsortix system into scholarly institutions and treatment centres which specialise in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.
