IRIS Software Group has announced the appointment of Elona Mortimer-Zhika to the position of chief executive officer, effective from September 1. She succeeds Kevin Dady who has been promoted to the role of executive chairman. Mortimer-Zhika joined IRIS in 2016 as chief financial officer and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2018.


Leading South East law firm Coffin Mew has announced three promotions in its latest round. Emma Stevens (centre) and Ben Loosemore (left) are promoted to senior associate. Both are recognised for their technical skills and have glowing reviews from clients. Jody Nash (right) is promoted to head of operational HR in recognition of her operational HR expertise and sound judgement. Stevens is a lawyer in the dispute resolution team and a member of the technology sector. Loosemore is a lawyer in the real estate sector team, specialising in development. Nash has worked for Coffin Mew for more than 14 years and has supported the firm through multi-office relocations, merger and more than 30% growth.


Award-winning Goringe Accountants based in Reading and London, has made three key strategic hires as part of the firm’s ambitious plans to grow its outsourcing department in line with rising demand from organisations seeking to contract out their finance division. The news comes less than six months after the firm recruited Mandy Chubb as head of management accounts and Risham Shaheen as chartered accountant. Lisa McPherson, management accountant associate, Judith Herdman, pension and payroll administrator, and Sarah Griffith, bookkeeper, join Goringe’s eight-strong outsourcing team, which provides a full range of financial services to UK and overseas-owned UK subsidiaries with a strong emphasis in the technology and business services sectors.


Law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ Thames Valley office has appointed John Banky to the firm’s real-estate team based at Green Park. Banky, who has worked locally for much of his career, will focus on real estate, both commercial and residential. He said: “We have worked together before and developed a good rapport, so I’m delighted to be part of the team.”


Maidenhead-based Transport2, the market- leading provider of transport management services behind the CoachHire.com platform, has made a new


appointment to its board following a period of rapid growth. With more than 25 years’ experience in the transport industry, Richard Woods has been appointed as chief operating officer (COO). Having held senior-level roles at major transport companies, Woods brings with him a wealth of expertise from some of the sector’s foremost businesses.


Law firm Gardner Leader – based in Newbury, Thatcham and Maidenhead – has hired Hannah Davies (left), corporate and commercial solicitor, and Clare King (right), solicitor in the commercial property team – both after career breaks. After a seven-year career break, Davies, who is mother to two young children, took part in Gardner Leader’s month long ‘Back to Law’ internship. She started her legal career training and working at a leading international law firm in London. She soon moved from intern to employee at Gardner Leader where she now works part-time in Maidenhead’s corporate and commercial team. King joins Gardner Leader’s commercial team in Newbury after also taking a seven-year career break to raise a family. King brings 21 years in all areas of commercial property work, including portfolio management, development work, corporate support and landlord and tenant matters.

Karen Howard has more than 30 years of experience in resolving complex planning law issues including large mixed-use schemes, infrastructure development and compulsory purchase orders. Howard who has a reputation in strategic planning on large regeneration schemes advises across sectors including residential, offices, industrial, retail, hotels and leisure. She handles development consent orders matters, as well as judicial review and High Court challenges. She moves to Shoosmiths from DLA Piper.
