Highways The planned closure of Butchers Lane had been postponed while the contractors looked into other arrangements. The clerk was congratulated on ge�ing this work revised. Traffic Cllr Regan had contacted TMBC and KCC regarding speeding on Seven Mile Lane. There had also been correspondence regarding an accident outside Brewers Hall. Tregothnan Estates were investigating the possibility of an additional entrance to Brewers Hall from the roundabout. Allotments There had been a request for a temporary advertising poster at the gate for vacant plots. There were no objections, and it was agreed the poster could be displayed for amaximumof twomonths. Parish records CllrMurray asked whether there was emergency access to the records in the event of the clerk being indisposed. The clerk explained the records were in an office at her home and the computer had an external back-up. Passwords were held by her husband.

Co-optionA seventh councillor, Brian Jones, was co-opted at themeeting, and the parish council was now full. Recycling centre It was noted that KCC is to set up a new HouseholdWaste Site atAllington. New rules about charging were available on the KCC and parish council websites. Car park It was noted that TMBC owns the car park by the recreation ground on Teston Road. Following complaints about debris falling fromthe trees and damaging cars, TMBC agreed to pollard the trees, but said it would not remove them. Villages in BloomWork was continuing tomake sure the village looked as good as possible before the judging visit on July 10. Defibrillator David Frankling would continue to look after this. a Skoda Octavia in St LaurenceAvenue, Aylesford. A skipwas stolen froman industrial


estate inMills Road, Aylesford. A vanwas stolen in Station Road,


Ditton. Both number plateswere stolen froma


vehicle inWoodlands Road, Ditton. Twomen arrived on a commercial site


in BellinghamWay, Ditton, in awhite Ford Transit van and tried to steal


date and the ba�eries needed changing at certain intervals. Village hall A new roof was being considered, along with external insulation. The new door was said to look good and provided be�er access for disabled people. The cinema was doing extremely well. The laurels in the car park had been trimmed. HighwaysAn articulated lorry had been seen driving on the pavement past parked cars in the village. Incidents such as this should be reported, with photos if possible, to the farmor to the company. Bench CllrWilliams had ordered a bench – it was a plastic four-seater bench with a plaque saying it had been donated by the Methodist Church. Speed indicator devices Cllr Ricke� was contacting themanufacturer about problems downloading the data.


Ryarsh


Village signMembers were pleased that the village sign had been put back and was looking good. Recycling centre It was noted that residents could use the household waste recycling centre at Cuxton for the next 18 months while a new site was built in Allington. KCC had introduced certain charges, which were displayed on its website. Play area The parish council was carrying out improvements to the play area. New swings and a safety surface for under the slide were being ordered. Projects Residents were invited to contact the parish clerk with details of any projects that could be carried out to improve the village.


Tro�iscliffe


School parking The PCSO had visited the school following complaints about parking and driving by parents. The clerk was advised that there were no issues of concern on this occasion. FootpathA delegation of concerned parishioners requested that the footpath


byWhi�akers co�age be re-instated to its original route andmade good. The group felt that the path as it stands was difficult to access due to a number of steps. They said they would be submi�ing a claimto have the sloped path on the other side of the fence toWhi�akers created as a public right of way and asked the parish council to support this. Public concerns There was concern about tree cu�ing at Trosley Park and the welfare of goats kept near the bridle path. There was also concern about the recent diversion while speed humps were reinstated on Taylors Lane. It was claimed that the diversion along Pilgrims Way had resulted in the death of a dog. The clerk was asked to advise KCC that this was not a suitable diversion route, particularly for lorries. Plough Inn Regarding the community bid, a number of local residents had submi�ed further comments to the inspectors.


Wateringbury


Officers CllrWells was re-elected as chairman and Cllr Simons was elected as vice-chairman. Jessica Roe had resigned for personal reasons. Rogue traders The chairman read out information warning residents about rogue traders. In some cases, this involved causing damage to people’s homes before offering to fix the damage for cash. Residents were warned not to deal with people who knocked on the door offering work. Highways The pavement along Red Hill was said to be uneven and causing problems for pedestrians. There was an indent in Phoenix Drive, which had already been reported. Roadmarkings at the junction of PizienWell Road and Old Road had faded. Village warden Three candidates had been interviewed for the post of part time village warden. John Ibbs had been appointed.
