E-MAILS, TWEETS & LOVE Letters
REMEMBERING BROTHER PHIL Hello Michael, So very sorry to hear of the passing of
Phil McCormick. Been a friend of his for years. From his early days with the band Jazbo McMann to the Roadducks. followed them everywhere. They played here in Winchester a few times a year at a bar called The Back Room. Through them we got to meet The
Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Charlie Daniels, and Johnny Van Zant. My wife was visiting her sister in
Florida in the early 80's and found them opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan at a little club called Brassy's in Cocoa Beach. His 1st lp had just been released. Had Phil and The Ducks at our house for dinner a few times when they were in town. Fried chicken and mashed potatoes! So sad.
RIP PHIL! Charles Creamer
Charles-Thanks for writing. Phil was the consummate entertainer, both on and off- stage. He was a friend and a great loss to the Southern rock world as well as to his family and countless friends. He was way too young to die, but we will never, ever forget the man that Danny Joe Brown himself chose to take his place Molly Hatchet! God- speed Phil. See you in the light. - ED

Nice article on rock and roll movies,
bro. I’m happy to say that I have seen most every one of them. I too am a huge fan of the cult classic Phantom of the Paradise, the tale of Winslow Leach! And who can ever forget the heavenly voice of Phoenix (Jessicao-
Harper) doing “Old Souls”?! And all of the great songs written by Paul Williams. A true classic. By the way, I hated Lady Gaga until she did AStar is Born and I fell in love with her. So pretty and such a magnificent voice! A fan until Beef goes straight! Bobby D. Dallas, TX
LES BRERS Michael Great magazine as always. Thank you for run- ning your Red Dog interview again. I didn’t know it is in your latest book From Macon to Jacksonville! I am ordering it from Amazon today! Any more Allman related stuff planned for this year, the 50th anniversary?

Charlane- Glad you liked it and thanks for ordering the book! Yeah, you’ll notice an- other archived interview this issue with for- mer Allman Brother Chuck Leavell, and our tribute to Mama Luise, with more to come. My next book is out in August, and it’s all about the Allman Brothers band, the greatest rock group, the GOAT in my opinion! Thanks for reading KUDZOO! - ED
