Buck Owens and the Buckaroos. Forty- two tracks. The Buck stops here, baby! All of Buck’s 45’s from Capitol including his duets with Susan Raye and the records of Buck & Buddy. Great songs abound, from “When You Get to Heaven I’ll Be There” (a duet with Susan); “Bridge Over Troubled Water;” “Arms Full of Empty;” “Country Singer’s Prayer,” and a song I personally played many a time when I was a country DJ, “Made in Japan.” Happy memories. Like so many oth- ers, I felt kind of like Buck Owens was a mem- ber of my family. After all, he and Roy Clark were in our home every Saturday night on Hee Haw. Buck was country to the bone. Good country. Real country. Get you some. . . Duke Robillard and his band are back with Ear Worms (Stony Plain) He started out all the way back in 1967 fronting Roomful of Blues, and he hasn’t let up since, serving up great swing and blues, R&B and rock. For the new album, Robillard decided to record a se- ries of songs that he was attracted to growing

up. They are not all one style of muic, but a mixed bag of tunes that helped to shape the artist. Songs like Arthur Alexander’s “Every- day I Have to Cry Some.” Along with the vo- cals are several instrumentals as well, including “Careless Love,” “You Belong to Me” and “Rawhide,” which Duke says is his tribute to Link Wray. Straight up rock and roll! It’s a fine collection of tunes by one of our premier guitarists. . . Big Joe & the Dy- naflows are throwing a Rockhouse Party, and you are invited! The album is available through Severn Records on CD or vinyl, and features the acclaimed vocalist/drummer Big Joe Maher, who double dips as drummer for Delbert McClinton. Rockhouse Party is a cel- ebration of Big Joe’s love for pure blues and R&B, kicking off with the classic “Driving Wheel” and ripping the blues to shreds with “So Mean to Me” and “Overdrive.” Thirteen songs, all good. Yeah, baby. That’s what I’m sayin.’. . . •
