dust on it. The first song on the album, which I the first single, “I Wanna Go Where You Go,” was the first song we heard in a final mix, and the vocal had that same effect on it that was on John Lennon’s vocal. We thought that was very cool.
MB: It’s good to hear where the name came from. At first I thought, “Billy Bob is doing a tribute to Speck Rhodes.” (Bud laughs at the obscure reference to the old country comedian who appear5ed on the Porter Wagoner show)
MB: You and I may be the only two peo- ple who will; get that. Bud: Oh, I know of Speck Rhodes really well.
MB: Do y’all have any upcoming TV ap- pearances we need to know about/ I know Billy Bob did the Big Interview with Dan Rather that airs tomorrow night on AXS TV. Bud: Yeah. I love those Big Interviews and I’m glad Dan asked me to do it. I loved the one he did with Gregg Allman. I’ve done other interviews with him over the years, but I love the format he uses for the Big Interview.
MB: Did you talk about the music any? Bud: Oh yeah. We talked a good bit about music.
MB: Any bookings on other TV shows, the late-night shows or anything? Bud: Not yet. They are talking about it. Yeah, we’ve done Jimmy Kimmel and Craig Fergu- son. And Regis and Kathy Lee when it was still Regis and Kathy Lee. (Laughs) •
The 16 Magazine Interview Now, just for fun, we time travel back
the ‘60’s and early ‘70’s. Had the Boxmasters been a band at that time, there’s no doubt they would have been featured in Tiger Beat and 16 magazines. So, here are our “16 Maga- zine” profiles on both Bud and J.D.
What’s your favorite TV show? Bud: Andy Griffith. Admit it JD. Yours is Game of Thrones. JD: No. I was never big on that show, espe- cially after the finale. Mine is 30 Rock
Favorite movie? Bud: Mine is a tie between High Noon and The Ghost & Mr. Chicken JD: Hoosiers
At first I thought you said Hooters. I was thinking I didn’t know there was a movie about Hooters. Bud: You have to look for that on the dark parts of the internet.
