Lichfield Festival has announced a superb headliner for its opening night on Friday 5 July. It’s only the sensational, Brit award-winning, Grammy nominee, singer-songwriter and all-round superstar KT TUNSTALL!
This is a special one-off performance in the splendour of Lichfield Cathedral by an artist who has remained at the forefront of UK singer-songwriter talent since scoring a worldwide smash with her debut album 'Eye To The Telescope' (which went on to sell over 5 million copies).
A mesmerising live performer, as well as a major recording talent, KT Tunstall has now toured the world many times over, and is a favourite at all the major Festivals from Glastonbury to Belladrum (and back again). Now Lichfield can now be added to that list!
Among her many career highlights, she is a previous winner of the Best British Female Solo Artist category at the Brit Awards, a Grammy nominee

(Best Female Pop Vocal Performance) and won Best Song at the Ivor Novello Awards for her huge, self-penned hit 'Suddenly I See'. Now based in California, as well as the release of her new album 'WAX', 2018 saw KT being awarded the Inspirational Artist gong at Music Week's Women In Music Awards, alongside a summer tour with The Pretenders, Simple Minds, and Barenaked Ladies.
Events will be taking place across and beyond the city including some new venues this year, notably Lichfield’s newly-renovated St Mary’s Church and in Abbots Bromley.
