THE WATERSIDE BRASSERIE NEW LOOK, NAME AND MENU…
The Waterside Brasserie at The Arden Hotel has reopened its doors to reveal a stylish new look, menu and name. No 44 on the Waterside describes itself as a social hangout, offering guests a variety of ‘small plates’ to share amongst friends whilst kicking-back and soaking up the relaxed atmosphere of this unique dining experience in Stratford-upon-Avon.
experience, whilst providing their guests with real flexibility in choice; it’s something different and new to the Stratford dining scene.
This light and airy space, with great views over the River Avon, is now complemented by the relaxed yet social vibe created from the new dining experience. Eat, drink and hang out whilst watching the world go by along the waterfront, taking in the stunning views from the terrace, both day and night. A further new feature to the Brasserie is the cosy, cocooned lounge area set back from the bar, an ideal spot for couples or small groups to soak up the relaxed atmosphere and while the time away.

So, the only question is, ‘to share or not to share?’ As our editor says, “…sharing is caring…”
Chic, yet relaxing, No 44 aims to make dining ‘…more adventurous and social’ …and succeeds. The fabulous menu offers a wonderful variety of ‘shareables’, enabling you to share five to six small plates between two. No more looking at a friend’s meal and wishing you had ordered the same; meal envy is a thing of the past!
For those that find it hard to choose, this is perfect! Order a few small plates and expand your palate! Freshly prepared and served straight to the table, there’s a real sense of ‘grazing’ as dishes arrive and everyone tucks-in! It’s dining without the formalities, which my daughter absolutely loved.
We sampled 15 different dishes including oven-baked stone bass, superfood salad and delicious sticky tamarind ribs. The menu offers a great selection for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike and we sampled dishes that we wouldn’t normally order, which really enabled us to test our taste buds. It’s less of a gamble when you’re ordering small dishes rather than investing in an expensive main course you’re not that sure of.
Grazing is addictive, especially with so many locally sourced and seasonal ingredients on offer. If you have room for more, there’s a short but sweet dessert menu featuring a selection of delicious options. We’d highly recommend the vanilla panna cotta, served with apple strudel and Calvados crème fraiche and the chocolate cremeux, served with malted milk ice cream and almond tuile.
General Manager of The Arden Hotel, Josefine Blomqvist told us that she was excited to be offering this more social and relaxed
