of the highlights of the year: Zellcheming 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany, from 27-29 June.

W

This year, the organising Association of Chemical Pulp and Paper Chemists and Engineers have really upped their game with a programme of events, seminars and presentations for both the practical aspects of maintaining good practice in paper mills and keeping everyone up to speed with the latest technologies.

What we particularly will be looking forward to is the ‘Road

to Maintenance’ in which companies from the maintenance sector will present their products and services with a live repair demonstration, a user case and a short lecture.

Sharing information and acting on it effectively is another highlight of the three-day show.

Visitors will have the opportunity to catch up on key topics that

include: Paper Industry 4.0, Bioeconomy and Paper, Consumers & Consumption 4.0.

Finally, although paper makers may find the idea of

communicating with the twenty-somethings a bit left field, Charles Bahr from marketing agency Tubeconnect will explain how his clients develop successful advertising for what his sector calls Generation Z.

If that’s not for you, meet me in the bar. Looking ahead to the next issue of PPL for May-June, subjects to

be covered in addition to the Zellcheming show preview include; Annual shipping, ports, handling, wrapping and warehousing focus (including cranes/forklifts); Environmental compliance and water treatment & management; Drive systems, and bearing design and maintenance.

Editorial submissions should be with us no later than 14 May and emailed as a word document with supporting print-ready images to pulppaperlogistics@virginmedia.com
