Textured tissue machine is more compact and economical
A
new machine for producing textured tissue has been launched by Andritz.
The PrimeLineTEX tissue machine
enables customers to produce textured tissue that is said to be of a quality superior to dry crepe and very close to structured (TAD) tissue, while at the same time achieving cost savings. The machine is available with widths of 5.6 or 2.8 metres and produces high-quality tissue for towel and sanitary applications. The machine offers up to 25 per cent fibre savings compared to dry crepe and consumes up to 50 per cent less energy than a TAD machine. Andritz says the PrimeLine TEX is
substantially shorter in length than other machines on the market and uses only one additional fabric instead of two. The PrimeLineTEX machine can also switch between production of textured and dry crepe tissue within a much shorter time than comparable machines.
Pulp Paper & Logistics
As a turnkey supplier, Andritz
can offer the complete textured tissue production line, including stock preparation, pumps, and the automation system. “Our new PrimeLineTEX tissue machine enables customers to produce high-quality tissue close to TAD but with substantially
reduced investment and operating costs. It is available to all markets worldwide, without any restrictions. This new machine offers profitable advantages for our customers,” says Klaus Blechinger, vice president for tissue at Andritz. The Andritz tissue pilot plant in
Graz, Austria – the PrimeLineTIAC – is currently configured as a PrimeLineTEX machine and now offers customers the opportunity to test and develop their future textured tissue. More information from the

Europe launch for easy-change feed roll covers
Replaceable feed roll covers have been launched by SUN Automation Group. The patent-pending EZ-Covers
are replaceable in sections on corrugating lines without removing the roll from the machine – enabling quick and easy installation by one operator. In addition to the cost savings associated with reduced labour and downtime, SUN EZ-Covers also minimise costs associated with crating, transporting, inventory and handling, since spare feed rolls are not needed.
March/April 2019
The replaceable feed roll covers eliminate the need to stock spare feed rolls while simultaneously
reducing replacement time from over four hours to just 30 minutes.
“Beyond our integrated suite of advanced technologies, our customers count on the expertise of our outstanding engineers and globally recognised customer service and support,” says Greg Jones, SUN Automation’s global sales and aftermarket chief. “Customer’s continued feedback allows our global team to collaborate and develop new and better ways to help customers optimise efficiencies, reduce downtime, and provide greater value to their downstream clients.”
