GALLERY USES ART TO PLUG ELECTRIC VEHICLES
As part of Milton Keynes’ ongoing initiative to link cultural spaces to sustainable transportation, MK Gallery will unveil two electric vehicles wrapped in designs by internationally recognised artists in time for the Gallery’s opening on 16 March. The move underpins the growing
uptake of electric vehicles in the city, while highlighting the electric charge points installed close to MK Gallery. The wraps, which have been
commissioned by Pedalling Culture, have been created by artists, Emma Hart and Ingrid Pollard, who will be showcasing their work at the Gallery’s opening exhibition, The Lie of the Land which charts how British landscape has been radically transformed through changing attitudes to free time, culture and leisure. The cars, which have been supplied by the Electric Vehicle Experience Centre (EVEC) in Milton Keynes, will transport guests during the Gallery’s opening weekend. Melanie Beck, Pedalling Culture’s
project chair, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with

YOU MUST PAY FOR DATA PROTECTION
It has nearly been a year since the new data protection law has come into force and most businesses seem to have come to terms with what to do regarding their processes and documentation. Businesses have been
focusing too heavily on processes and documentation, which has led certain requirements to be overlooked – Heald Solicitors are encouraging businesses to check that they have paid the data protection fee. Anyone that processes
personal data must pay an annual fee to the Information Commissioner’s Office. There are a few exemptions, however most businesses – including sole traders – must pay. The fee payable is dependent
MK Gallery on this project as they are set to be a prominent feature on our cultural landscape. Electric vehicle usage is growing and it is essential that our cultural venues have the infrastructure in place to meet this, and the sustainable goals of Milton Keynes.”
