IN THE SPOTLIGHT
ESTATE AIMING TO INSPIRE
De Vere Horwood Estate is opening up its state-of-the-art Inspire Academy to the general public. The purpose-built training and conference space in Buckinghamshire was originally created for internal use but is now available to hire for meetings and training. The contemporary space offers a choice of training rooms and meeting
suites, including the highly versatile Learning Room for up to 24 guests and the state-of-the-art Technology Room for up to 10. You’ll also find an inviting coffee and breakout area, plus a useful office for the host. Then head downstairs and venture outside, where you can relax in the
manicured gardens. Sales manager Carol Barford said: “Whatever the reason for your
meeting, our new space is sure to inspire success. Anyone is welcome to come and have a look around and have a coffee.”

EVENTS EXPERT GAINS EXPO-SURE
A well-known events expert recently celebrated staging her 10th Business Expo. Sheila Smith (pictured), of Sheila Smith Sales and
Events, staged her first Business Expo in Northamptonshire in 2014 and the event has become a firm fixture in the county’s business calendar. Its success inspired Sheila to begin delivering her Business Expos across
Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire and she kicked off a busy schedule of events for 2019 with a Bucks Business Expo in Newport Pagnell last month – the 10th event of its kind across the four counties. Supported by the Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce, and hosted at
the Holiday Inn in Newport Pagnell, the Expo was free to attend and attracted not only the local business community, but visitors from beyond the county boundary too. “For the business community in Buckinghamshire, and beyond, our Expo
is a fantastic opportunity in one working day to generate leads, make new contacts, sell, buy, meet suppliers, network and more,” said Sheila.

VENUE IS HOT TO TROT
The new chief operating officer at The Ride High Equestrian Centre is encouraging businesses to consider the charity as a venue for conferences and meetings. Kelly Fox previously ran a
successful business consultancy, working with companies across a variety of sectors including retail, engineering, distribution, agriculture, automotive, not for profit, care and the public sector. She will now spearhead the
Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) programme at the Equestrian Centre, capitalising on her many years of experience as a trainer and coach working with corporate teams and her knowledge and passion for equine facilitated learning. In addition to a wealth of
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunities and EFL
programmes, the Equestrian Centre offers dedicated, quiet, meeting room facilities, which are a perfect and unusual place for your meeting, team-building or strategy day. Housed in the original Victorian coaching block of the stable yard, this is a unique environment to host meetings and smaller events. The centre provides a great non-
corporate environment, in a hidden pocket of countryside, within walking distance of MK Central station and with free parking. As a social enterprise all profits from its corporate services support the work of the Ride High charity, which works with disadvantaged children.
