Te Crane Certification Association of America serves to promote safety in lifting applications by developing and promoting education for crane inspection professionals. Te association has not yet published a detailed agenda for their Spring event, but in their most recent newsletter, association President John Davis notes that the event’s content “will enhance the safety of crane surveyors and provide insight as crane inspection relates to tower cranes.” Past events have included a welcome reception, breakfast and lunch, and offsite facility tours in additional to a variety of presentations from inspection and risk mitigation experts. With its highly focused agenda, Davis says that “CCAA is the place where crane surveyors learn to be the best that they can be!”

Te Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association serves a wide range of stakeholders in specialized transportation, cranes and rigging, and related industrial applications in machinery moving and maintenance. As their premier event, the most recent Annual Conference drew over 750 attendees from across that spectrum and around the world. You should expect this years’ session to include working committee meetings, educational sessions, presentations for their Job of the Year competition, a Product Fair, and extensive networking opportunities among the industry’s leading executives. Given the expansive range of activity served by the SC&RA, the Crane and Rigging Workshop represents a much more focused opportunity for lifting and rigging professionals to assemble. You should expect to see sessions focused on safety and regulatory standards as well as operational issues along with well-known speakers on more general topics of interest. Tis event will also incorporate an Exhibit Center, providing an organized opportunity to meet with key industry contacts, along with extensive networking opportunities. Te most recent Workshop boasted record attendance of 639 individuals, and among them 105 were first-time attendees. An off-site tour of the nearby Link-Belt factory capped off the event. Serving an important segment of the rigging industry, the Web Sling & Tie-Down Association is an international group focused on application of slings and tie-downs manufactured from synthetic web and used to lift, carry or restrain goods or materials. From a core audience of sling and tie-down manufacturers, the group’s membership extends to other stakeholders such fiber suppliers, weavers and safety/regulatory constituencies. Te association is recognized as a Standards Writing Organization by the United States Department of Justice. Members and Non-members are invited to attend both the Annual and Fall meetings of the WSTDA. Technical Committees meet in open forum during both events, providing an opportunity to participate in writing standards and to discuss critical issues related to this industry. Teir events also typically include educational session and networking opportunities for attendees.

Te Association of Crane and Rigging Professionals seeks to improve crane operations and rigging activities in any applications in which those activities occur by providing educational opportunities to its members and the public. Te General Assembly provides an opportunity to learn about the latest development in regulations, safety, certification, rigging practices and inspections and other topics related to lifting and rigging operations. Attendees should expect a variety of presentations and breakout sessions on technically focused topics. Prior events had also included tours of manufacturing facilities of the lifting and rigging products you use.
