YEAR five pupils from Staplehurst School visited a housing develop- ment for a lesson on wildlife. A developer opened the site for
the nine and 10-year-olds to dis- cover its native inhabitants and to answer questions from ecologists about how residents and nature
will live alongside each other. Teacher Jack Tate said: “Pupils
had a fantastic morning learning what they can do to protect the creatures living in our fields, hedgerows and gardens. I have no doubt it has inspired a number of young ecologists.”
