A CENTURY OF HISTORY
Morgan Motor Company is a family-owned manufacturer that hand-builds British sports cars, famous the world over for their unique blend of craſt, heritage and driving experience. The company was established in 1909 by H.F.S. Morgan with the design of the now iconic Morgan Three-Wheeler. This was followed in 1936 by the Morgan 4-4, which continues to be produced today, and is the longest running production car in the world. The ethos at Morgan has remained unchanged for over 100 years: from research and
design, to paint and trim, every Morgan is expertly craſted using three core elements: ash, aluminium and leather. Prospective owners are encouraged to visit Morgan’s Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern to watch their car being built and to choose from a wide range of paint and leather-trim options, along with the extra details that make each Morgan unique to its owner.
From my experience, this position is less about the hard numbers and more about building relationships with people, sharing ideas, which then can be implemented within the business, the results will then follow.
What advice would you give a younger person if thinking about working in the financial sector? I would advise any young person to consider a career working in the financial sector, and to look for an opportunity to work in a business, gaining real-time experience and knowledge. The financial sector is a lot more than using a calculator, it’s about people, processes and problem solving, all of which help to drive efficiency and add value to the business.
If you had to sum up your approach to business in three words, what would they be? Communication, Morale, Cashflow.
