COVER STORY

Morgan has teamed up with Selfridges to produce the car manufacturer’s first zero emission, all-electric car

Colin, the Morgan Motor Company is one of the most famous names in British motoring. What is it like to work at the heart of such an iconic brand? It’s fascinating. You get to meet interesting people who are equally as passionate about our cars and our brand as we are. Everyone you speak to has a story about a Morgan, or knows somebody who owns one, or has owned one. They’re all so enthusiastic about the brand and that makes you feel really proud and privileged to be part of it.

How has the company evolved recently? Recent years have been very positive for Morgan and it is all due to the hard work and commitment of all Morgan stakeholders. Internally we have challenged all our processes to ensure Morgan is producing quality, exciting and profitable products which enhance the Morgan experience for all. We are also investing heavily in future products which will see this continue for years to come.

You have worked for Morgan since 2010. What thinking drives the business? The heart of the Morgan business is about the “Morgan Experience”. This goes from visiting the factory on a tour to buying a new car to visiting one of our 60 dealerships around the world.

This is key part of developing our vision and strategy for the business. There is a certain magic to Morgan and we try to drive the experience across all areas of the business and through our global network of dealerships.

THERE IS A CERTAIN MAGIC TO MORGAN AND WE TRY TO DRIVE THE EXPERIENCE ACROSS ALL AREAS OF THE BUSINESS

You company is part of an HSBC delegation of companies heading to Hong Kong with the UK government to try and drum up business. Why did you decide to get involved and what do you hope to achieve? We have received fantastic support from HSBC over many years of business partnership and we are delighted to be visiting Hong Kong with them to support the GREAT Festival of Innovation. We decided to get involved with the trip as it presents significant opportunities for Morgan, as a long established, forward thinking and growing business looking to expand in global markets such as Hong Kong and with further representation in China.

I'm proud and privileged to be part of the Morgan Motor Company, says Group Financial Director Colin Boden
