A dog and a Google search
were all it took for Richard and Kim Quiblier to make the move to the Ozarks, where they created a fine
dining experience showcasing their Eu- ropean-style tastes. The Quibliers traveled extensively for
their jobs — he was an executive chef and she as a hospitality service manager — for a company that caters to major golf events across the country. They were ready for a change of pace and wanted to get a dog, and had talked about buying a small resort and restau-
rant. While working at an event in Ken-
tucky, Kim searched online for small re- sorts for sale, and Whispering Woods in Jordan came up. Neither had been to Ar- kansas, and they had no intention of buying, but they wanted to take a look. “We liked what we saw,” Kim said,
looking out the large windows in the res- taurant’s dining room that frame the southern tip of Lake Norfork. “We saw potential. It had a feeling that we liked.” It also allowed them to turn their pas-
sion for food and hospitality into a mem- orable experience for their customers.
