of work at Interiors Marketplace, where she decorated interiors and provided in- terior decorating and custom window treatment consultations. In March, she began her home or- ganization business, after encourage- ment from her husband, Josh. “I had been organizing for people for

years and didn’t realize there was a name for what I do,” Mize said. She creates organizational systems

for people who build new homes so they can be organized from the start, or she helps elderly residents declutter and or- ganize so everything is easily accessible and they have room for the things they love.

She also offers home and event deco-

rating, furniture repurposing, and home improvement recommendations and re- ferrals.

Home organization is important be-

cause it allows people to find what they need when they need it, to get out the door without any hassles, and have a peaceful environment for relaxation. “Everyone knows how hectic life can

be,” Mize said. “There is a Chinese say- ing that goes, ‘If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happi- ness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.’ For centuries, the greatest thinkers have suggested the same thing — happiness is found in helping others. I love knowing that even if it’s just for a short time, I was able to create space, time and simplicity for another individ- ual.”
