ABOUT THE OQHA: Founded in 1960, The Ontario


Quarter Horse Association is the AQHA Affiliate for the Province of Ontario, Canada. It includes seven separate


regions within the


Province, four of which are cur- rently active promotional clubs; Area 1, Area 2, Area 3, and Eastern Ontario. Each zone offers its own membership to its residents The Ontario Quarter


Horse Association Inc. is an affiliate of the American Quarter Horse As- sociation (AQHA), and is the offi- cial liaison between AQHA and the quarter horse industry in the province of Ontario. The Ontario Quarter Horse Association Inc. is the official liaison between the Canadian Quarter Horse Association (CQHA) and the quarter horse in- dustry in the province of Ontario.


The OQHA recognizes the Area Quarter Horse Promotional Clubs in Ontario as associates that support the growth and development of the Ontario quarter horse industry VISION: A viable and dynamic quarter horse industry in the province of Ontario MISSION: To support the growth and development of the Ontario quarter horse industry OBJECTS: • To act as the official liaison be- tween AQHA and Ontario quarter horse industry • To provide beneficial services for its members that enhance and en- courage quarter horse ownership and participation in OQHA events e.g. Breeders’ Futurity, OQHA year- end awards, etc. • To generate growth in the OQHA membership through the marketing,


promotion, advertising and publicity of the events and activities of On- tario quarter horse industry • To provide diverse education pro- grams/events, as well as networking opportunities, to quarter horse en- thusiasts • To ensure that the quarter horse is treated humanely and with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times • To encourage activities which pro- mote the interests of equestrian business owners and of recreational riders • To collaborate with other equine organizations to achieve shared goals and ideals


• To be fiscally responsible, and to maintain accurate and up-todate records of OQHA’s business as well as archives of all OQHA activities.
