Dundas Valley Sept. 9th day ride, hosts Linda Fell and Lana English.

Slightly cool but perfect riding conditions for the “edge of the world” trail. We had lots of laughs and a terrific tail gate lunch, thanks to Linda and her (served warm) yay! split pea soup. Larry Green didn’t appear to mind being the only male, lol.

Simcoe Ride Sept. 14- 16, host Richard Gauthier. This was

Richard’s first year of hosting and we sincerely hope that it won’t be his last. Thirteen riders enjoyed the Gauthiers’ hospitality, the beautiful fa- cility and the excellent trails and trail guides. Thank you Richard. Your ride was truly memorable.

East Gate Algonquin Sept. 28 – Oct. 1, host Ellie Hinze. The ride

host was Ellie, so enough said. The ride was an overwhelming success! We were deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of John

David Rushton, November 20, 1940 – September 26, 2018 age 77 years. Always a cowboy at heart, he went on and hosted numerous trail rides with the Ontario Trail Riders and the Dry Lake Saddle Club. His trail rides were among the best. Dave’s rides offered camping in a park like setting at the back of his farm. A chance to ride in Lake Erie, and ride to an ice cream parlor in downtown Selkirk. He was a member of Christian Cowboys and recited cowboy poetry at many local events. We miss him already!

Vivian Forest Thanksgiving weekend Oct. 5- Oct. 8, host Hel-

mut Hitscherich. Slightly coolish and a little wet but the spirit of the OTRA riders in attendance was not dampened. A good time was had by all!

Folks OTRA’S 2018 ride schedule has come to a close. The

Board of Directors is already busy planning the 2019 schedule. “Until we meet again, may the good Lord take a liking to you.” Roy Rogers
