Ufford Park wins Quality in Tourism Silver accreditation

uFFORD Park is delighted to announce that is has been awarded the Quality in Tourism Silver 3-Star accreditation. Following an assessment over the summer, ufford Park was presented with its award in a ceremony that took place on September 20th 2018 at ufford Park Woodbridge. The


award which


acknowledges quality in the hospitality, tourism and leisure businesses is something that is synonymous with high standards and excellent customer service.


The


Quality in Tourism Awards are based on a core set of service- oriented standards, all areas of the business are assessed and accolades are given as part of the star rating assessment where customer service levels are exceptional. ufford Park works closely


with its Quality in Tourism assessor throughout the year to ensure the hotel is consistently improving its service delivery. In addition to this annual star rating assessment, ufford Park undergoes quarterly mystery shops and monthly test calls from the assessment body. The results of these ‘spot checks’ are fed back to the management team to highlight where changes can be made. ufford Park’s scores in the areas of service, quality, hospitality and food service had considerably increased for 2018 resulting in the silver award and the highly respected Breakfast award. Quality in Tourism comments; “As well as the considerable investment it has made with its continuing refurbishment programme, ufford Park has shown great vision by investing in ensuring its staff have grown alongside the improvements it has made to the hotel. When the customer service levels match the enhanced product offering it’s a winning combination and this is what ufford Park has achieved. The hotel has been very astute and has not only played to its core strengths, but has adapted to more accurately meet the desires of its customer base.”


Commenting on the award Managing Director, Robertson stated, “When I took over as Managing Director in 2015, my vision for ufford Park was that it would become renowned locally for its commitment to excellent customer service and we consistently strive to deliver the highest quality service at every customer touchpoint – ultimately I suppose to ‘exceed the guest’s expectations’. To have been awarded this accreditation is testament to the hard work of the team here and they should all be very proud. It was my 5 year goal to achieve the Silver accolade for both the hotel and the quality of our breakfasts by 2018 and we’ve done both, I couldn’t be happier! Our next step is to build on what we have achieved and look towards achieving Gold 3-star standard by 2021.”

WOODBRIDGE MUSEUM AFTERNOON TALKS


THE doors of the new Woodbridge Museum opened for the first time at Maritime Woodbridge in October. Visitors were able to see the Reception area and shop. Following this the museum closed in order to start the fitting out in earnest. Work is progressing well and before long it is hoped that the Friends of the Museum will be able to visit and see the complete building. The museum will open its doors to the public in April 2019.


The Friday talks have made


a good start and the talk on Friday 7th December at 2.30pm will be an account by Barbara Lamberton of “My pilgrimage to Santiago del Compostella” walking the Camino pilgrims’ trail. The first talk in 2019 will be


on January 11th when Roger Bailey will talk about his experiences of “Teaching in Nepal.” For further information
