23rd September, the day dawned bright and sunny – did it heck – it was raining stair rods! We had 86 brave entries, well down on previous years but we still managed to send £1350 to each of our charities – SPEAR and TV Air Ambulance. We could not run this event without


the kind permission of the farmers who move stock, allow us to cross their land and put jumps out. Special thanks to Swalcliffe Park Equestrian who once again allowed us to use their fantastic Cross Country Course. Central Horse News Magazine along with Di Green very kindly sponsored

busy serving teas and coffees, cake, pulled pork rolls and burgers to keep the intrepid riders and helpers well nourished in the adverse conditions. My personal thanks must also go to the girls at High Meadow Farm Livery


and their friends and families - this event would not run without you. After this year’s ride we say


a sad goodbye to Jill Perry. She has been heavily involved with the organisation of the ride for almost all of its history, being chairperson for the last 5 rides. Her indefatigable enthusiasm and commitment was second to none – big boots to fill!
