October means warm coats, dinner by the fire and one hell of a great Halloween party. Each year I attend a party that beats all other spooky gatherings. The organiser, a friend, hires in actors, some dressed as zombies, other chainsaw wielding freaks , as well as a giant 13 foot mechanical spider to create a night no-one ever forgets. The zombies and other scary characters chase you through a derelict building and out into the trees then back into a container that you're locked in – and more importantly they're trying to get into – which is all washed down with ghoulish themed cocktails and a dinner and disco afterwards. It's pretty awesome – and scary, and despite the fact I know they're actors, I still scare myself silly getting caught up in the moment.
This issue should delight rather than scare…hopefully. I caught up with singing sensation Mabel, who is riding high in the charts. Daughter of Neneh Cherry and coveted producer Cameron McVey, neither of which she’s used to progress her career, she’s on the guest list of all the most coveted parties, and titles like Vogue can’t get enough of her. Read her interview on page16.
There's also a review of Fawsley Hall, perfect for a weekend escape, as well as plenty of festive dining inspiration for those that are organised and planning ahead (I wish I could include myself in the organised category). I've also reviewed the Jaguar I-PACE and surprisingly fell in love with electric. It wasn't on my speed dating list of motors, but after putting the car through its paces, I'm more than converted. Plug me in!
