Media design studio pushes on with further expansion

Devon-based media design studio, Pushed, is excited to announce its expansion to Southampton, building on 13 years of success within the industry from its current location in Plymouth. Founder of Pushed, Dave

Meadows, set up the company in 2005 when ITV closed its regional studio in Plymouth making him redundant from his position there as Senior Graphic Designer. With technological advances facilitating remote working, it was an easy decision to stay local and set up a specialist company which could deliver work to rival the biggest London agencies, while keeping

overheads down and therefore costs to clients low. Since then, Pushed has

established a name for itself working with a wide range of clients creating television and cinema commercials, broadcast graphics, corporate CGI, motion graphics and animation winning a Royal Television Society Award for animation in 2010. Current clients include Dave’s former employer, ITV, Brittany Ferries, Royal Mail, AXA, National Trust and celebrity chefs Rick Stein, James Martin and Rachel Allen. Speaking about the company’s second home, Dave Meadows said:

NEWS FOR & FROM MEMBERS OF DEVON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

L-R: Dave Meadows, Chris Allwright, Ben Parker

“We’re delighted to be taking this next step and expanding the business to Southampton. It’s a fantastic, vibrant city with lots of opportunities, local talent from the universities and convenient links to London. We can’t wait to get started.” Pushed is an employer with

dedicated and loyal staff and the new office, which will be situated in Cumberland Place in the heart of Southampton’s cultural quarter, is a testament to that fact. Ben Parker’s move to Southampton and desire to remain with the company was, in fact, the original inspiration behind the new location.

Joining Ben in the new office will

be Chris Allwright, a talented designer who has recently graduated from Southampton Solent University. The company is looking to further nurture and support local talent as the company grows.

Ewe’d be foolish not to Donate for Dartmoor

Dartmoor National Park is venturing into new ways of working with local and regional businesses to ensure that projects can be funded to keep Dartmoor the amazing place it is and ensure the moor thrives. The Donate for Dartmoor scheme is being supported by Enchanted

House Beds, a company which uses wool from Dartmoor’s hill farms in its beds. Dartmoor National Park is proud to endorse this approach and welcomes ideas from other businesses for ways to work together. Bill Hitchins, Chairman of Dartmoor National Park, said: “We are

delighted that Enchanted House Beds are supporting valuable conservation work on Dartmoor through the Donate for Dartmoor scheme. This is a great example of a local business working in partnership with the National Park.” Dartmoor attracts over 2.5 million visitors every year which equates

to an economic value over £120m. Most people living locally will know that Dartmoor is a special place full of wildlife, historical treasures and wide open spaces to explore, however, not everyone knows that it is home to rare and threatened species as well as a wealth of prehistoric remains such as stone circles, burial cairns and settlements. There are 450 miles of footpaths and bridleways crossing Dartmoor and the landscape and its history can be explored in many ways. Dartmoor National Park is looking for other businesses who would

like to get involved in the Donate for Dartmoor scheme. Visit: www.dartmoor.gov.uk
