Range Rover Carmichael fire tender A new project for the Motoring team. The ignition switch and steering lock had been removed and both will need to be replaced. The spark plugs were removed and the engine turned over by hand to verify that it hadn’t seized… it hadn’t! The radiator and ancillary hoses were all refitted and the engine was started. Although initially quite noisy, the self-adjusting tappets were reset and the V8 ran smoothly with good oil pressure, however it will need retuning and the hoses will be replaced. Unfortunately the manual gearbox clutch mecha- nism has seized and all efforts to free it have failed. The clutch master and slave cylinders have been checked and bled and found to be working OK. So
