ust moments from the M3 and M25 in Ottershaw, a short drive from Heathrow and London, Foxhills estate is an oasis of tranquillity set within over 400 acres of beautiful grounds. It’s a club as well as a hotel, so the facilities especially the golf can get busy but it’s so vast and varied that there is always something to do. The hotel reception and The Manor restaurant and lounge are located in a gorgeous ivy- clad 19th century Manor House at the heart of the resort which originally took its name from 18th century politician Charles James Fox who resided on the estate in the 1780’s. A lover of good food and wine which was a great inspiration to Foxhills!
Managing Director Marc Hayton and his family have owned the club for over 40 years and you will spot Marc about the Club talking with members and enjoying a weekly ride with the Sunday morning cycle club. Marc strives to provide the Club’s members and guests with a unique Country Club experience, so that when you leave you feel better than when you arrived. Foxhills have expanded its sporting facilities far beyond a simple golf course to cater for the diverse interests of its members and visitors. There are two pristine 18-hole Championship golf courses - Bernard Hunt and Longcross, as well as the fabulous par-three nine- hole Manor course (the first of its kind in Britain), 70 bedrooms, three restaurants,
eleven tennis courts, four squash courts, four swimming pools, a youth club with table tennis, games room, junior gym and exercise timetable, trim-trail, an award- winning
state-of-the-art health spa,
conference and meeting facilities. They also run a weekly cycling club, capitalising on its status as official resort partner to the Aviva Tour of Britain when it was home to Team GB’s road race cycling team during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Non-members and non-residents are
welcome on day visits, while there is a range of flexible memberships available, along with accommodation and meeting packages. Boasting superb health spa and sports facilities you can easily spend all day here. There is plenty to do and ways to relax at Foxhills! After our morning group taster session on the tennis courts with pro Pippa we returned to our rooms and relaxed on sun loungers beside the lovely outdoor pool just a stone throw away from the main house. Whether you visit the spa for one treatment or an ultimate spa staycation you will love it! We experienced the Moroccan Hammam Ritual (25 mins / £45) – a relaxing treatment in the steam room to cleanse the skin and detox the body which I followed with a full body massage which was out of this world!
Dining is a delight at Foxhills! The

a top-notch a la carte and tasting menu option. For a more relaxed dining option, brasserie-style restaurant “Nineteen” is a golfer’s haven located at the 18th green of Foxhills Championship golf course with a lovely terrace for alfresco dining, making for a lively hub for drinks and light lunches. Many famous names have visited Foxhills and it been used to film television programme like Spooks and Downton Abbey. Today with a growing membership and a strong reputation as a business and family friendly leisure destination they have adapted and diversified, making sure it caters and gets more females and younger members into golf as well as the budding golfers.
