surrey days out A SURREY

DAY OUT WITH A BANG!

S

tuck for activities to do with the family this season? Looking to get your eye back in? Or just wanting to try a new sport? Why not give clay pigeon shooting a go!

It’s one of the fastest growing sports in Europe and with no prior experience you can enjoy the excitement and the adrenalin rush of blasting a flying clay target into smithereens with a shotgun, and have a spectacularly fun time!

Bisley Shooting Ground in Brookwood is Europe’s largest sporting clay school. Their

quintessentially 1865 Victorian

clubhouse provides the perfect ambiance with a welcoming crackling fire, well stocked bar, relaxed seating and chilled background music. Originally located on Wimbledon Common in 1865 as the HQ for government advisors on the future of shooting, one day a politician was strolling round the common in his top hat and tails and a stray musket bullet went through his top hat! The clubhouse was subsequently dismantled piece by piece in 1895 and relocated to Bisley, Surrey. The Bisley logo thus features a top hat with a hole through it!

Today, still a family run business and a world-class shooting venue it has state of the art facilities and the greatest passion for introducing new people to the sport.

Far from a male dominated, elite sport associated with animals, it’s become one of the safest, affordable, thrilling sports attracting a wide variety of shooters especially young shots and ladies. From complete beginners to seasoned shots, Bisley’s professionals will ensure you have the best time.

For the ultimate preparation they offer 'Grouse & Pheasant’ packages devised by Head Instructor John Heagren to ensure this exhilarating experience provides you with everything you need to fine tune your A-Game over 5 awesome drives. Each experience lasts 1 hour and costs £155 (BSG members), (£180 Non-Members). All instruction and up to 150 clays and cartridges included.

They also provide the best of traditional British
