BIG CROWD, BIG JUMPS IN FT WORTH

for the Southwest Classic. The John Justin jumper ring was packed full of quality jumpers all week and Friday saw many exciting classes. Scott Lenkart got the afternoon off in great style with a win in the $5000 EMO Jumper Classic on Elliott owned by Lori Mathews. Second went to Aran ridden by Kristian Hardin and owned by Pamela Levin. The yellow rib- bon went home with Lux Like Clover and Mario Williams. The $8000 Cunningham & Cunningham Pony Speed Derby got the

evening classes going and Bailey Robinson on Lynzi Rojas’ Sebastian out ran the other 11 ponies to take the blue. Second went to Chaparral’s Diamond and California rider Zacko Hardin riding for Kristen Harden and third went to Veronica’s Secret with Francis Thompson McKenzie riding for Quail Run Horse Center. The $15,000 VEX Sporthorses 4 bar class was the hit of the show

with 18 riders testing how high their horses could jump. The last round was set at 6’2” (88 meters) in height and saw 8 riders attempt the mas- sive jumps. The girls topped the field with Whitney Owens, on DS Hold- ing’s Ambienta S, and Erin Davis-Heineking, on October Hill Hunters and Jumpers’ Leonie, tied after the fifth and final round. Saturday night featured the $40,000 Grand Prix of Ft Worth pre- sented by October Hill Hunters and Jumpers. 33 entries tried the course designed by Anthony D’Ambrosio and eight horses returned for the jump off. Tracy Fenney took home the top two ribbons with MTM Reve Du Paradis and Igor Van De Heibos, respectfully. MTM Farm owns both horses. Tracy on MTM Reve Du Paradis was also the blue ribbon winner in the $7500 Welcome Stake earlier in the week. The third place ribbon went to Christian Heineking on NKL Carrido.

Courtney Lenkart & Like Always

Dorothy Douglas & S&L Lion King

In the hunter ring, the $5000 USHJA National Hunter Derby was the highlight on Friday with Dorothy Douglas winning with S & L Lion King owned by S & L Farms. Chapel Hill with Rachel Lindsey owned by Ava Williams was second and Maddie Thorn on her Q & A was third. Courtney Lenkart continued her winning ways on Jana Rodes’ Like

Always winning the $5000 Texas Super Series Green Hunter Stake (and the $1000 USHJA Green Hunter Incentive). Second went to MTM First Dibs owned by MTM Farm and ridden by Tracy Fenney and third went to Olive and Whitney Owens ridding for DS Holdings LLC. Another highlight of the show for spectators was the Lead Line Class before the Grand Prix! Twelve future riders turned out in formal attire to the delight of the crowd. Fortunately, there were blue ribbons and toys for all as they paraded among the Grand Prix jumps. w
