First anniversary at yoxFord GriFFin
HAVING taken over in July 1st 2017, Tara and Miranda are just about to celebrate their first an- niversary at the Yoxford Griffin. Both ladies saw the potential at the Griffin and so when the opportu- nity arose they jumped at the chance to take the busi- ness on. The pub has been given a
complete refurbishment creating a warm and invit- ing atmosphere. The oldest part of the building dates to the 14th century so there is plenty of character and his- tory. This is very much a com-
munity pub, a meeting place where friends, family and neighbours can get together and put the world to rights. Being a freehouse you will find a great selec- tion of real ale and lager on tap as well as a good wine list and all the spirits and soft drinks you would expect. Having done plenty of research you will find the likes of Estrella and Erding- er alongside local favou- rites such as Adnams. Of course, these days the
food offering is an impor- tant part of any pub. The Griffin has a separate res- taurant which can seat 34, with additional seating in the bar area. Tara and Miranda have taken on local chef, Phil, who has 16 years’ experience, working in many notable local res- taurants and hotels. Phil has designed a menu to make the most of the incredible local produce available. Everything is made from scratch in-house and the menu will change regularly
to reflect what is fresh, local and seasonal. The great food offering
even extends to delicious homemade sausage rolls which sit on the bar and make the perfect accompa- niment to a refreshing drink. The Griffin is also a brand ambassador for Pie- minister and serve their award-winning British Pies right here in Yoxford. If you are planning a visit and would like to eat, it is always advisable to book in advance to avoid disap- pointment. Tara and Miranda have
also had the beer garden completely landscaped to create a secure and enclosed space complete with chil- dren’s play area. This is perfect for families and people with dogs. Of course, when the lovely British weather kicks in and the rain starts to fall, dogs are welcome in the bar area so there is plenty of room to
take shelter and continue enjoying your day visit. The second part of the
business is the B&B. There are six rooms available, all with en-suite and all have been refurbished. At only £85 per night per room it is hardly a surprise to learn they book well in advance. Naturally there are plenty of reasons to visit this area of Suffolk with the Heritage Coast and RSPB Minsmere
just a short drive away. The rooms are also popular with guests looking for accom- modation for local wed- dings. There is always some-
thing going on here, wheth- er it is a charity event rais- ing funds for the east Angli- an Air Ambulance or live music. The team are also showing the World Cup, so fingers crossed the home involvement lasts into the
later stages! It is great to see this love-
ly village pub thriving under the ownership of Tara and Miranda. If you would like to book a table, enquire about a private function or have any other queries please call the team on 01728 667078 or visit www.yoxfordgriffininn.
