NEWS new cross gets green light!


Patients on Belfast’s Donegall Pass won’t have any problems spotting the location of harrison healthcare thanks to the installation of the new Smartlight LED cross!


Smartlight crosses are manufactured by a french company and are distributed in Ireland by Venturama Ltd, which pharmacies might also know as the supplier of Keito health monitors.


‘Smartlight manufacture a range of various led crosses to suit different budgets,’ says michael andrews from Venturama.


‘all of the crosses are fully programmable, with very easy-to-use software via a Wi-fi application and


over 50 different background animations. the pharmacy can readily create and store up to thirteen different text displays of their own choosing, in addition to fixed displays of time, date and temperature. all the crosses carry either a three or five-year manufacturer’s warranty depending on the type of LEDs used.'


‘I had been thinking for some time about an LED cross to promote the visibility of my pharmacy,’ says colin harrison, owner of harrison healthcare, ‘and came across Smartlight at the Pharmacy Show in Birmingham last october. this year’s cosmetic association trade Show was, once again, a real success. the trade Show, which was held at the rDS in Dublin at the end of may, provided attendees with a complete range of products and gifts for christmas 2018, and everyone agreed that the trip had been an extremely worthwhile one.

malone golf club was the venue for the recent numark golf classic, with pharmacists from around the province enjoying both fantastic weather – and a great day’s golfing! the overall winner on the day was Brian austin from austin’s chemist in

the purpose of the event was to examine how developments in prevention, treatment and quality of life can transform the journey for the person with dementia and their carers and included some interesting and innovative sessions such as how diet and lifestyle factors could affect the onset of dementia, cognitive interventions, memory assessment and dementia care in the acute hospital. top speakers included several clinical psychology leads and representatives from the four main organising bodies, as well as University college London, trinity college Dublin, and the alzheimer’s Society.


‘Such events,’ said richard Pengelly, Permanent Secretary Department of health, in his opening address, ‘are essential so that we all continue to understand what the health and social care issues are for people and their carers living with dementia.’


Overall winner, Brian Austin, is presented with his trophy by Numark MD, Jeremy Meader.
