Bourne Sport has launched its new custom- built track washer on the Julie Rose stadium in Ashford recently.
The track washer was built in their own workshops and is designed to improve further on some of the proprietary machines currently on the market.
After extensive testing and final adjustments to the initial design, the machine performed excellently.
The machine is built around a Kubota 50hp compact tractor and comprises a high‐ pressure washer mounted on the front and a high output vacuum pump with clean and dirty water tanks located on the back.
It is designed for cleaning polymeric running tracks, but can also address any artificial surface where high pressure washing and removal of dirty water is required.
Where tractor access is restricted, the machine can be used with two high pressure lances on long reels and pedestrian vacuuming units.

Another popular item in the range is the Combination Turf Groomer (Ref 4GCS) (see photograph).
It’s a three point linkage mounted, multi‐tasking unit that will groom pitches prior to use or after play. A star shaped slitter bar pierces the surface and increases drainage, then a brush and rake bards tickle over the surface enhancing the quality and appearance of the turf. A rear roller then firms up the surface and provides much admired striping.
All three tools on this all‐in‐one unit are independently adjustable for depth and pressure.

With Toro’s MVP kits greenkeepers, workshop technicians and mechanics can avoid maintenance headaches in the season ahead.
As the grass growing season gets into full swing and fleet workload increases, the last thing needed is extended machinery downtime and unexpected maintenance costs. This is a situation that can be avoided with Toro’s MVP (maintenance value performance) kits.
With an individual kit for blades, roller rebuilding, cutting unit overhauling, seals, and blades and belts, whichever kit you go for, one thing guaranteed is that you will have all the genuine Toro parts needed to quickly get your turfcare machinery working again.
So, instead of spending valuable time sourcing individual parts as issues arise, greenkeepers can purchase Toro MVP kits in one convenient box that comes with the added benefit of saving up to 20 percent in repair expenses.
Instructions give advice on when to perform specific maintenance tasks depending on the model and the number of hours of use, helping prevent running machines into the ground and incurring unnecessary costs to repair them.
Added to this, if used to perform regular maintenance, MVP kits keep cost of ownership low and allow for more accurate forecasting when setting budget aside for parts and servicing.
Michael Hampton, Reesink Turfcare parts manager, comments: “As we all know, time is of the essence for greenkeeping teams in the summer and machines are worked hard to keep turf in play and in immaculate condition. Owning an MVP kit means no longer being caught out by a machine in need of care, as you will be prepared with every part needed to quickly get your turfcare machinery back into action.”

Versatile and strong, the STIGA Tornado robust side discharge tractors can handle a variety of terrain, from private playing fields, paddocks, vineyards, orchards to undulating lawns in any season.
With hydrostatic transmission as standard and powered by Briggs & Stratton or Kawasaki high performance engines, these mowers provide superior cutting with top mulching performance. Side discharge comes into its own in longer grass conditions and leaves a uniform finish where the grass has grown too long to mulch. The mulching plug can easily be fitted, allowing efficient recycling of grass clippings returning valuable nutrients into the soil.
Top of the range is the Tornado Pro 9118 XWS, featuring 4 wheel drive and is powered by a twin cylinder Kawaskai FS691V engine; built to tackle heavy duty tasks and challenging terrain. The cast iron front axle and large heavy duty 121cm cutting deck with three untimed blades is driven using premium quality pulleys and a Kevlar reinforced belt that has been designed for intensive use. The fully floating deck is constructed from steel that is 25% thicker than
usual along with lateral structural reinforcements and 6 anti‐scalp wheels.
The large 15 litre rear mounted fuel tanks give the freedom to operate for long periods without the need to refuel. The selection of seasonal implements ranging from poly rollers, carts, sweepers and snow blades make these tractors extremely versatile; making light work of big spaces.
