Gaylia Kristensen is transforming the skincare industry. Pioneering, innovative and a real alternative to injectables, here she shares with us her long and expensive journey to creating this coveted skincare range. Interview by Katie McPhilimey

suffering badly from its effects. So, with a passion for natural ingredients, I went looking for a range of naturally derived skincare products that would give me fantastic anti-ageing results. Then something amazing happened. A contact of mine in Europe told me about some revolutionary new state-of-the-art technologies; new molecular peptide and protein technologies that were naturally derived and had phenomenal clinically proven results. I thought these new technologies were amazing – revolutionary! We suddenly had the power to treat the skin at a deep cellular level with a topically applied product, which we have never been able to do before. I knew that these new technologies were going to change the world of skincare forever and I became so fascinated and captivated by them that today our company is a pioneer in the new field of Natural Molecular Cosmetics.

Gaylia, how did you arrive at having your own skincare range? After 25 years of working with multimillion dollar international companies, my husband and I decided to retire in Australia. Having lived in the UK for 12 years, when I returned home I found that even though I constantly used sunscreen, the climate was severely damaging my skin. We have the harshest, most extreme climate in the world in Australia and my skin was

You mix botanicals with scientific innovation; can you highlight for us some of the most active ingredients and what they do for our skin? We use 12 cutting-edge, naturally derived, molecular protein and peptide technologies in our products, all brilliant and each one has a specific function. We have an Octapeptide that gives us a BOTOX-like effect and can reduce expression lines and wrinkles by up to 63% in 30 days. This is super exciting, as we now have a valid natural alternative to BOTOX. You will find it in our three serums: EYE LÌFT; UTOPÌA; and WHITE MAGÌC. We have a new Hexapeptide that has extraordinary skin restructuring and firming abilities, it strengthens the skin at the dermo-epidermal junction increasing skin firmness by up to 40% in 60 days. It features in our DRÈAM and DÈLUXE Creams. Then there’s a Tetrapeptide that decreases puffy eye bags in 14 days, an Antarctic Marine protein that increases skin hydration by up 45% in 7 days and reduces wrinkle depth by up to 60% in 30 days, a Tripeptide that stimulates Collagen production increasing skin elasticity by up to 54% in 28 days and a Trehalose and Vegetable protein derived from Cactus that gives our creams in-built climate control. These are just some of our amazing new technologies. All of them have exceptional, unparalleled results.

Botanicals can sometimes wrongly be perceived as less effective, but this is so very wrong, isn’t it? It is, especially now that we are venturing into the new world of Natural Molecular Cosmetics. These are pharmaceutical grade, plant and vegetable-based actives and used at the correct percentages these technologies are far more effective than any ingredients we have ever used before. We combine them with powerful Australian botanicals to give our products extraordinary anti-ageing benefits. We use unique Native Australian botanicals including: Kakadu Plum, the world’s richest source of Vitamin C; Quandong, a small native fruit full of anti-oxidants; and Wild Rosella, a native hibiscus, along with Australian Macadamia Oil, Avocado Oil and Organic Aloe Vera which are the best in the world. The combination of high-tech actives and powerful Australian botanicals makes our products truly different, truly unique.
