positive stuff, your successes and feel good experiences. Second: Delete and Dump anything that does not serve you well or gives you negative emotions. I’ve even deleted people who dilute me [Laughing]. Third: Mute all negative voices (your own and other people’s) and do not absorb them. Finally: Edit and Review your actions and goals, know what’s happening and working, keep alert and flexible towards your goals.

For example, the publisher’s team said many times that it was impossible for me to get my first book into the Sunday Mail YOU magazine. It was my number one publicity goal. For 18 months I did the books exercises to build my belief in my goal. I made vision boards with YOU magazine front covers, I stuck a pic of my book cover over their covers with the words; ‘Mind Makeover Exclusive Book Launch’, I did this five times until I believed it would happen. Vision boards bring your desired life to you at speed and are massive fun. Each time I was told it was impossible, I pressed ‘mute’, I blocked out their impossible thinking. If I had listened to them and accepted it was impossible, then over 5 million YOU magazine readers would not have seen the 4-page exclusive launch of my book in that magazine, and other titles would not have picked it up.

That’s powerful! So, I’ll ask you again, [laughing] if you could pull out just one more tool outlined within the book what would it be? Many readers say that the chapter on ’Control Your Inner Voice’ was life-changing. We all have our own internal radio station 24/7 inside our head, so ask yourself now, is that voice a friend who supports and encourages your goals or is it the enemy within casting doubt and fear? It’s hard to beat the enemy voice if you give it its own office in your head. Does your inner voice tell you that you’re fine or fabulous? For me Fine stands for saying I’m….F-frustrated I-insecure N-negative and E-exhausted. Conference audiences always crack up when they hear this and say it’s so true. Wake up in the morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself you’re fabulous and talented and the day ahead is an abundance of opportunities. This is not ego, it is common sense to bet on yourself as a winner in life. It’s common sense, but not common practice until you take control of your inner voice.

I think the younger generation could do with these tools… I agree Katie. One reader was 11-years-old, the daughter of a magazine publisher and another, a lady in her 80s, told me what a positive impact the book has had on her approach to life. It’s a book for everyone. Interestingly, the book has broken all UK publishing records in the number of magazine features it has received – Hello, Tatler, Marie Claire, YOU, to name just a few. This is not an “I will fix you book” simply because I do not believe anyone needs fixing, we can do that ourselves once we have control of our thoughts and mind. The press love this approach and core message.

There is timely humour throughout the book, it’s very genuinely written, genuine on many levels as a tried and tested formula, but also about aspects of your own journey. What was the writing process like for you? Thank you, that means a great deal to me, as I worked consistently with the publishers to keep this in the book. I’ve always shared stories with humour, as I believe that’s how we learn best. As my first experience of writing a book, it was a constant juxta mix of emotions. At times, I felt the wind was on my back and I had this

cosmic energy driving me forward, I was typing so fast smoke was coming off the keyboard[laughing] and next a force ten gale was hitting me from the front, pushing me backwards. My Dad used to say, “Fall down five times; get back up six!” It was exhilarating and totally absorbing. I loved it, so much so I’m about to do it again… I dedicated the book to my dad, Joe Lowe, who was my number one mentor and inspiration. That was a joy to do and he would have loved seeing his name published [laughing].

Are you ever off duty? You’re passionate that people can change their lives, with this in mind, is it hard to switch off when meeting people? No, I’m not, which drives my family nuts! I’m a nightmare and especially in taxis. I recently got into a taxi with my husband and when we got out he said, “Why did you have to give that poor guy (taxi driver) a personal Mind Makeover, he was happy being totally miserable and complaining, he’s probably been like that for years.” I answered, “Not on my watch he isn’t!” [Laughing]

You famously said, ‘A mind lift is better than a facelift’…do you think it’s about time TV shows started to focus on inner transformations? I absolutely agree with you Katie and my goal and vision is to present Mind Makeovers on TV as part of daily shows like Lorraine, This Morning etc. when they feature image and life transformations. These are great topics, however until something first happens on the inside it will not last on the outside…whatever the treatment!

What’s the next goal for you? I have three new goals on my vision board: firstly, to share the power of Mind Makeovers to TV audiences, secondly to write book two and thirdly to present Mind Makeovers to an audience of 5000… Six months ago, I put my goal of speaking to an audience of 2000 on my vision board and I did it.

Finally, I’d love to say to your readers, try it, put your dreams and goals up on a vision board in bold pictures and words. Visualise it and use your magnificent imagination to see it as your reality now and watch out, hold onto your seat, because it works and your goals will become your reality!
