HARRY PAYE DAY ON POOLE QUAY Saturday 16th June Poole has a local fl ag depicting a dolphin and three scallop shells. The Poole Flag Trust is committed to encouraging local fl ag pole owners to also fl y the local fl ag that stems from the 14th century. The Trust will be supporting Harry Paye Day with a stall on Poole Quay and will be explaining the history of the local fl ag as well as offering versions of the current fl ag for sale. Bargains, relating to the experimental / research versions, will also be available.
WAYPOINTS INVITES YOU TO ITS HOEDOWN Saturday 23rd June, 3-5pm Country and Western music with line dancing at Waypoints Care, 1 Dorchester Road. Lots of tasty fayre, cake stall, raffl e, etc. Raising money for The Friends of Dolphin – Poole; providing free trips in Poole Harbour for disabled persons of all ages and disabilities who are unable to use the normal pleasure craft which operate in Poole Harbour.
THE BROADSTONE CHOIR PRESENTS HENRY PURCELL’S OPERA ‘DIDO AND AENEAS’ Saturday 14th July, 7.30pm Gainsford Theatre at Lytchett Minster School. A concert version; soloists will be a mixture of professionals and members of the choir, accompanied by a professional string quartet with harpsichord. After the concert drinks will be served.
