Parking Plea!

The Town Council is constantly contacted by residents about the issue of inconsiderate parking.

We all know that there are more cars than our drives can accommodate and that leaves us parking on our streets. Please, when you leave your car on a street consider the following:

• Am I causing a visibility issue to another road user or householder?

• Am I safely parked away from a junction?

• Could an ambulance or fi re engine get through easily?

• Am I parking considerately and not blocking a driveway?

Hotspots identifi ed as being issues in the past few weeks have been Douglas Close, Warbler Close and French’s Farm Road.

Let’s not suffer any accidents or incidents as a result of this issue!

Town Councillor Vacancy

We welcome Mr Paul King, who took up his seat on 17th April. Paul has been a local resident for some twenty years after a successful career in the construction industry. We are sure he will be a great addition to the team.

We do however still have one vacancy – please get in touch with the Town Clerk for an informal chat about the role and what sort of things you could get involved in. No special qualifi cations or skills needed, just a desire to improve the area in which you live for the benefi t of others.
