Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Pocono Mountains has plans in place to more than double the property’s con- vention facilities with groundbreaking scheduled for later in 2018. Opening in late 2019, the expansion will add 105,000- square feet for a total of 205,000-square feet. The expansion includes a new 38,000-square foot Grand Ballroom, 12,000- square foot Junior Ballroom, and 18 meeting rooms, bringing the property’s total up to 33 meeting rooms in all.
The new expansion also includes improved Internet band- width speed - up to 1Gb/s throughout the resort with the capacity to increase up to 10 Gb/s.
In 2017, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions opened Phase II at the resort, which added 520 guest rooms that brought the resort’s total to nearly 1,000 guest rooms. New room styles exclusive to the Poconos include:
Suites (1 king bedroom with master bath, 2 separate bed- rooms with 2 queen beds each,
full-sized sofa sleeper, and
fireplace); and Big Five Suites (1 king bedroom with master bath, 4 separate bedrooms with 2 queen beds each, full-sized sofa sleeper, a fireplace, and furnished balcony).
Last year, the resort also added new dining experiences: Double Cut Charcoal Grill/Liquor Bar, Kalahari’s signature steak house experience featuring premium cuts of meat, craft cocktails, family-style sides and more; Sortino's Italian Kitchen, a new-aged, red-sauced restaurant where old-school Italian cuisine meets the modern age; Marrakesh Market with grab-and-go convenience and bazaar style shopping for unique gifts, authentic-African items and everyday needs; plus B-Lux Grill and Bar for handcrafted burgers, shakes and other American-style food made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Mount Airy Casino Resort Mount Pocono, PA
Mount Airy Casino Resort recently announced the continued evolution of its dynamic property. The resort has partnered with prominent architectural firm Friedmutter Group to design a multimillion-dollar expansion that will introduce 100 new guest rooms and a 16,000-square foot ballroom and events center in the spring of 2019.
The resort also plans to open an Outdoor Concert Pavilion this May.
