Beachgoers joined in the fun at the first Looe Marine Eco Arts Day.
Photographer Lisa Woollett, illustrator Sarah McCarthy and author Biddy Lloyd joined forces with the Looe Marine Conservation Group (LMCG) to stage the event, hosted by the Hannafore Point Hotel.
Lisa and Sarah went
beachcombing and showed people how to take the best images of their finds. Lisa and Sarah’s forthcoming book Treasures of the Sea will be published in May.
Author Biddy led a workshop at the hotel. Biddy’s book for children, I Have A Rock, explores her home village of Downderry through the eyes of a

The day culminated with a screening of the documentary Fish People. The film tells the story of a diverse cast of characters, all of whom have dedicated their lives to the sea.
Debbie Rees, from Looe, said
the day provided a brilliant outdoor activity.
She said: ‘You get to be by the sea, outdoors, enjoying finding top shells and pebbles. It was great for all ages.’
The sum of £134 raised during the event will be donated to the Cornwall Seal Group Research Trust.
