Nurse Sharon thought her career could be over - until she went to Foot Solutions
Plymouth nurse Sharon Sheldon thought her career was coming to an end when she began to suffer excruciating pain in her feet.
Having been in nursing for more than 25 years she was used to spending most of the time at work on her feet.
Just over a year ago Sharon, who works in the Royal Eye Infi rmary at Derriford, began to suffer extreme pain in the soles of her feet.
“The pain had just got worse and worse over the months and I can’t explain how awful it was being on my feet for hours and hours on end,” said Sharon, who lives in Southway.
“I was really struggling to walk at work and at the end of a shift I would have to sit down and put my feet up for a long time until the pain began to ease.”
Sharon took infl ammatories and used pain relieving gel, but to no avail.
“I knew it was make or break for me. I could see that I would have to give up a job that I love unless something changed.”
Sharon had read testimonials from customers of Foot Solutions - and decided it was time to visit the store in Royal Parade and seek their help.
“The pain was so intense that it was becoming almost impossible to walk,” she said.
Staff at Foot Solutions undertook a thorough and detailed assessment of Sharon’s condition and recommended customised arch supports, specially made to help overcome her problem.
Sharon initially purchased over the counter insoles, which provided immediate relief and when the customised arch supports arrived, Sharon was delighted to fi nd that she was completely pain free within two weeks.

In addition to the customised insoles Sharon also purchased shoes with rocker soles from Foot Solutions’ extensive range of stylish and comfortable footwear.
“I am now literally walking on air. It’s
fantastic the difference that the arch supports have made. I went to a wedding
recently and forgot to put them in my shoes and by the end of the evening I was in agony again,” she said.
