Spot the wildlife at Charlecote Park


Where? Charlecote Park, Warwick When? Year round


Take a stroll through the parkland at Charlecote through gentle terrain that’s suitable for both little and long legs. The mown grassy paths are also suitable for big-wheeled buggies, so you can bring all the family. It’s a great day out for budding explorers who would love to spot some wildlife such as fallow deer and Jacob sheep – or bring along a pair of binoculars to see what else you can find. May Day Festival

Gung-Ho! Cardiff


Where? Bute Park, Cardiff When? May 5, 2019


Raising money for BBC Children in Need, this 5k is no ordinary run. It includes 10 inflatable obstacles, including the world’s largest inflatable obstacle and Europe’s biggest inflatable slide. London Superhero Run


Where? Regent’s Park, London When? May 13, 2018


Dress up as your favourite superhero to run around the beautiful setting of London’s Regent Park and raise money for your chosen charity at the same time. This event is known for it’s wonderful atmosphere and is ideal for all the family. Bring all your friends along to cheer you on as you zoom around the 5k route (or 10k if you choose to run it twice). There’s also a 200m route for under eights, so your little ones can have fun too. Registration costs £25, and you need to raise a minimum of £100 for your charity. More info:

Family Gordon Castle Highland Games


Where? Gordon Castle, Fochabers, Scotland When? May 20, 2018


Tossing the caber, shot put, hammer throwing and tug of war are just some of the attractions at these Highland games. Since the revival of the games at Gordon Castle, three world records have been broken – why not go along to see more record-breaking attempts this year? If you’ve always wanted to know what’s behind the gates of London’s private gardens, this is your chance to find out. More than 200 gardens take part in the Open Garden Square Weekend, including private gardens, roof gardens, community allotments as well as gardens belonging to historic buildings, museums, churches and universities.
