CRHRA News

CRHRA Is The Voice Of The Recreational Horse World!

By Bonnie Simpson Did you know that your Insur-

ance Benefit only covers the PER- SON that OWNS the horse and is in care and control. If someone else rides your horse or is in care and control of your horse they need to have their own membership with the Insurance Ben- efit. If you own the horse and your kids ride it or the neighbour or you lease or part lease the horse then each one of those people need their own in- surance, they are not covered under your insurance benefit. We offer as a Benefit very rea-

sonable insurance through BFL which includes a membership to CRHRA providing a voice that is willing to Li- aison between you and other Organi- zations. Our directors are skilled in many fields after working in this en- vironment for twenty or so years. All of our staff and directors are volun- teers who work with no pay to ensure that we are able to give back to our members as much as possible whether it is with clinics or traveling to your or- ganization providing assistance in es- tablishing your by-laws or explaining why everyone needs to stand together as one voice through CRHRA. One of Our goals for the future

is to increase tourism through B&B’s and the development of more camp- ing areas for riding and driving all over Canada so traveling is easier. Our strong connection with the Ontario Trails Council with their Executive Director Patrick Connor on our Board we are the first to know of any new trail development in the province so that we can be a voice at the planning stages so that horses get a fair chance to be included in the 20 year Master Plans that are being developed in var- ious Municipalities. Now that we are Canada Wide we hope to do this as well in all of the Provinces except

Quebec. Patrick developed his love for horse from riding in the Rouge Valley while growing up in Toronto. His knowledge and experience in the trail world all over Canada is invalu- able to us. His contact list is filled with impressive people who work together to ensure safe, well developed trails for all users. The whole family can experience the new wave of camping, Mom the equestrian, Dad ATV, Kids Mountain biking, Grandparents, fish- ing or hiking. Multi use trails are the new normal. Jack is working on developing

strong relationships for the Health and Welfare of the Horse. Being kept in- formed of new diseases and out breaks so we can inform our mem- bers. He also works with his govern- ment connections at Queens Park. Liz is our voice for the York Re-

gional Forest. She fights hard to keep horses having equal rights in the For- est.

Mark wanders the province

spreading the word about us always offering tips and experience on trail etiquette and safety. John is our contact in the Wind-

sor area who works tirelessly promot- ing us and keeping us informed of any changes that are going on out there in the horse world. Heather is our newest director

who is from the Fergus area and is our secretary along with our eyes and ears in that area. Then there is Me! We offer Industry and Associa-

tion memberships as well and hope that your organization, barn, Vets, Fer- rier’s and Equine Retail Specialists will join and provide an Ambassador to keep in touch with our office which would help us keep an Eye on the fab- ulous world of horses. Check out our website for more details on the all of the above at
