EDITORIAL
Hello lovely LivingNow community
Do you meditate? Perhaps it’s something you’ve been doing for years, like many of our LivingNow staff. Or maybe you do, but only on occasion. It’s possible that, even if you think you aren’t, perhaps you are mindful without even knowing it! The concepts and practices of MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS are both ancient and modern – and I’m delighted to offer you these great articles about them! You may even find that there are things you didn’t know about these topics, which can be clarified for you… If you’re thinking you might like to learn more about being
mindful, you could join a cool program called ‘Mindful in May’ – check it out at
www.livingnow.com.au/mindful And there are plenty of other great topics covered in this
edition of LivingNow; indeed, have you seen just how many articles we’ve flowed onto our pretty pages for you? More than thirty! How’s that for a plethora of opportunities to be nurtured, informed and inspired! There’s an amazing article written by Liisa
Halme (did you see her’s last issue?), this time on the important topic of getting our needs met. It really touched me, as, to tell the truth of it, I’ve been having a bit of a hard time, lately. This article (and several others in this issue) helped me connect back in with myself. I’m so grateful. I’m also hugely grateful for the
incredible community I’m blessed to live within! I had put a little post on good ol’ Facebook, saying that I was struggling a bit, so if anyone felt to send me some good vibes they would be appreciated. I got a FLOOD of awesomeness coming to me! I was humbled, my heart blown open with love. I was reminded that it’s important to reach out and connect with people – both in times of celebration AND in the lonely / overwhelmed / struggling times. There were so many encouraging words and helpful tips and tools sent my way. I’ll share just one of them here with you: “The only difference between fear and excitement is the breath. Breathe deeply dear one.” Such a fantastic perspective and reminder, don’t you think!? Connection and communication with my beautiful community = YUM!!! And talking about connection: there’s a 9-day online
event called ‘Shine Summit‘ coming soon. You have the opportunity to connect – have raw, real conversations – with 30+ innovators and thought leaders, sharing their knowledge and insights on the future of work, money, tech, education, mindfulness, EQ and business. Some of the speakers are described as ‘disruptors’, and ‘game-changers’.
I’ll ‘fess up: I haven’t really liked those descriptors sometimes (maybe I’ve just heard them in too many try- hard situations ), however I got to thinking; what if we really could
change the ‘game’ we’re playing? What if all of us could really step up and, together, create what’s needed to thrive and shine in this changing world? How awesome would that be? If you use the code SHINENOW at
www.shineonlinesummit.com you’ll get special
treatment Pop it in, even for the free offers, then, if you get the urge to purchase anything later you’ll get discounts, simply by using that code! I’m glad I can gift this to you – it’s my intention to help all of us transform into the brave- hearted people we truly can be. On the topic of gifts: there’s an opportunity for you to WIN
cool prizes if you subscribe to LivingNow – see pp 54–55. You can also see the lucky winners of the previous prizes on p.94; congrats to them! Finally, I wanted to ask: have you seen the back cover
of this magazine??? Check it out, then – let me alliterate here – YOU can CONNECT via our cool, comprehensive community collator at
www.livingnow.com.au/directory – coz it’s all about connection!
In service & gratitude, Emma
